Martin Hellwig
Martin Hellwig is Director emeritus at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn. He holds a diploma in economics from the University of Heidelberg (1970) and a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1973). His previous academic career has included positions at Stanford, Princeton, Bonn, Basel, Harvard and Mannheim Universities.
In addition to teaching and research, he has been active in professional associations and in policy advisory committees. He was the first Chair of the Advisory Scientific Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board. With Anat Admati from Stanford University, he has published the book 鈥淭he Bankers鈥 New Clothes: What鈥檚 Wrong with Banking and What to Do about It鈥, Princeton University Press 2013.
