SSE joins Global Network for Advanced Management
SSE鈥檚 admission was approved at a virtual meeting of the leadership of member schools on May 14. The school becomes the 32nd school in the network, and the first in Scandinavia.

Edward A. Snyder, the former dean of the Yale School of Management and the chair of the Global Network, said, 鈥淚 want to express my appreciation to the Ad Hoc Membership Committee who took such great care in developing their recommendation to invite 海角社区下载to join the network.鈥
"Strategic positioning"
鈥淭his outcome is important. One, it confirms the value of the network鈥檚 policy of deciding which schools to recruit as members. Two, the quality and capabilities of SSE have generated great excitement among member schools. Of particular importance is SSE鈥檚 strategic positioning as 鈥榓n international business school based in Sweden鈥 and its ongoing investments in double-degree programs and high-impact research. The fit with Global Network members could not be better.鈥
Snyder noted that the Global Network is expanding its platform for global collaboration as the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic. 鈥淲e are also mindful that SSE joins the network during a time when economies and societies throughout the world are shut down to varying degrees. The Global Network, yet stronger with the 海角社区下载as its newest member, continues in its commitment to programs to advance management practices throughout the world.鈥
"A new member in the family"
The Ad Hoc Membership Committee that recommended the admission of SSE to the network included Jamie Breen, assistant dean of MBA programs for working professionals at the Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley; Stefano Caselli, vice-rector for international affairs at Bocconi University; and Alberto Trejos, dean of INCAE.

Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM)
Launched in 2012, the includes 32 leading business schools from diverse regions, countries, cultures, and economies in different phases of development. A common motivation of member schools to connect is to position their students, faculty, staff, alumni and other constituencies so that they can deepen their understanding of differences and commonalities in their economies and increase their effectiveness. Member schools recognize that leaders in all sectors will be asked to contribute to the solutions of major problems that are typically complex and global.
Representing a shift beyond traditional partnership models of business school collaboration, the Global Network enables the development of innovative initiatives that leverage the schools鈥 comparative advantages. Leveraging network efficiencies, utilizing new technologies, building strong institutional and personal relationships, and operating with a minimum of bureaucracy, the Global Network is having a transformational effect on students, member schools, management education, and beyond.
