Misum report: More talking than walking when it comes to sustainability in Sweden´s largest listed companies
鈥淚t is remarkable and very shortsighted,鈥 says Lin Lerpold, Associate Professor and Executive Director at Misum, the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets, at the 海角社区下载 School of Economics, 鈥渘ot least when you consider that almost all of them use the 17 goals from Agenda 2030 of the United Nations in the marketing of their companies. It is, after all, named Agenda 2030,鈥 says Lin Lerpold.
The best rating in 鈥渨alking the talk鈥 - a study of the sustainability communication of the 海角社区下载 Large Cap companies - goes to SCA, Billerudkorsn盲s, SEB and Stora Enso, closely followed by NCC, SSAB and H&M.
The lowest rates are achieved by Evolution Gaming, Sagax, Netent and Melker Sch枚rling followed by Industriv盲rlden, Resurs Holding, Hexagon and Lundbergf枚retagen.
There are several positive results in the survey. One is that more companies now include sustainability managers in their executive management groups: 43 percent compared 25 percent two years ago when the first 鈥淲alking the Talk?鈥 report was done. Another is that sustainability is communicated as a critical part of their core stategy by 50 percent of the companies, compared to 22 percent in the 2015 survey.
The report is based on over 14,000 pages of data collected, encoded and analyzed by Lin Lerpold, with Jonas Skilje and Chengcheng Qu, students at the 海角社区下载 School of Economics.
